Hey, I'm Ana
I am a project manager and a parent. An expat based in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't planned as a long-term move. Like many international relocations, it began with a job opportunity and quickly grew into something larger.
The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built SageHarborField
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family point of view.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical experience gained from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Portugal continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Warm regards,
Ana
